Courtesy should be the order of the day when participating in any QCC Event, not just Jousting. Please be considerate of other players, especially when it comes towards the end of the Circuit and the Grand Championship.
No one is prohibited from entering multiple characters in the Joust, we simply ask that if you see that more than one of your characters is in the final Joust, that you perhaps consider letting one step aside so that another character has a chance to compete as well.
Jousting is an expensive hobby, which is why for the most part only nobles participated in it during historical times. If your character might be too poor to actually field all the equipment, mount, armor etc he or she will be expected to have, consider perhaps approaching someone to sponsor your character in the Jousts! This could open up a considerable amount of new RP and could be more fun than just showing up and Jousting.
Also consider the time involved with Jousting. While it is gripping to role play out all your hits and moves, speed is also appreciated by both audience and proctor/ List Mistress/Master. What I suggest in this case so you do not have to sacrifice quality for speed, think about typing up what you want to do ahead of time, or making macros.
If it can work for a Wedding it can work for a Joust!
Where can you get equipment for your character's turn on the Joust Circuit?
There are several reputable forges in the QCC that can supply the armor for a price, including Darm's Forge and The Drunken Hammer. Knight's Haven Drafts sells Shire horses for steeds, Michaud Alexander and his wife Sojiana got Mangus and Blizzard from KHD. [http://www.sunandshadow.com/KnightsHaven/setup.htm ]
Also consider that some Jousts will have "loaners" available for armor and horses if you want to RP out asking for their use!
The idea is to expand your contacts and enjoyment of RP, and we hope that this season will be the best one yet.
