Of Wings of Ash and Witches Fair
Fall was Lily's most favorite Season, and today had been especially auspicious for Lilith Amorette Cagliostro. She had several candle orders for the Witch Sister's to fill and she loved working with her hands, keeping busy and sharpening her connection to her magic and powers. When the season changed to winter of course preparations for Winsol would begin, but for now she relaxed a bit as she worked, humming softly to herself under her breath and thinking positive thoughts as she infused the scented candles with that little something extra that made them special.
Of course anything she made for Witch Sisters was quality, she'd been taught by her mother that if it was to be sold it should be something she herself would be proud to own. But these were for someone that had a special spot in Lily's regard, and the finished product would bear that out. She carefully wiped her cheek with the back of her wrist before turning back to tying a slender paper ribbon into a delicate bow, a half smile on her lips as she thought of him, the person these were for.
Her gaze softened further as her green eyes turned to see the token she had found that very morning on the walk from the fields after gathering fresh herbs. She had seen it, a very large raven after it had taken flight and the token it had left had been a single perfect ebon feather. She had felt a jolt of magic when she'd taken it up betwixt thumb and forefinger, a gentle gasp of wonder as she examined it. Obviously it was meant for her, though she would have to spend time to unravel its mystery later it served a purpose now in that it let her think of Madje.
She didn't truly understand his connection with the iconic raven any more than he probably understood her own connection to the gem on its silvery strand around her neck. A soft laugh and she shook her head, turning back to finish up the order before carefully packing it away to be sent. Again she shook her head – she would not trust this delivery to just anyone, and would most likely find a way to take it to him herself if she could talk Collette into escorting her. Until certain things were taken care of she was not naïve enough to find herself alone without some sort of protection. It was not that Lily was afraid of the outside world, not at all. But she knew without a doubt what could happen and that the person that did such a thing would not even have to know the consequences to harm her irreperably.
Sitting quietly on her stool in the work room she looked fondly over to where Madje had been on the night of the Market, the night he had stayed while she worked on a sleeping potion to soothe and aid him. He was quite possibly the most handsome man she knew that wasn't related to her somehow, and she allowed herself a few moments to simply moon over him. She had a crush on him and knew it, wished Collette didn't know it, darn her friend's razor sharp mind! Lily had however decided that she would love whoever she wanted. She did not expect Madje to love her back unlike most girls with a first crush, but she did hope that he would stay her friend.
This in turn made her think of something else and those expressive lips turned downward in a bit of a frown. Her father was trying to be proactive, and while she couldn't blame him for wanting to keep her safe and out of harm's way, she did not appreciate the thought that he was trying to find someone for her Virgin Night. She'd gotten wind that the real reason Grey was having a dinner party with certain nobles was to get Lily introduced to the son of Prince Vincente. She'd never met the half Eyrien Warlord, all she knew was that he had his father's disposition and was supposedly very handsome. If she recalled correctly his name was Nico, or Nicola or something like that. She made a frustrated sound then and swept off the stool and upstairs.
She would have to make sure that she was very scarce when the Prince and his family came to visit, and that was that. Maybe Madje would welcome a guest for a brief time! She cleaned up and then chose her best Witches' Weeds, a lovely black dress with the softest lace to dress in. She wanted to look as lovely as possible of course for going to see Madje! Let Collette mock her on the way, looking into the mirror as she brushed her hair she found that she looked fondly forward to the teasing, because if Collette didn't care for her she wouldn't bother. Gathering up her things she locked up the shop carefully before seeking out her fellow Witch Sister. The trip to deliver Madje's items would do the both of them some good!
